Baby Contest – The A.B. Davis Fellowship Ministry’s annual “Baby Contest”  will be Sunday, October 29, 3:00 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity (Faith Partners) – needs volunteers to assist in building homes on: December 30 and January 6.  If you are interested, please sign up in the copier room.

Hallelujah Carnival—Poplar Springs Annual Hallelujah Carnival is October 31, 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.  We are in need of volunteers for this event as well as generators to operate some of the inflatable bouncy houses.  Please sign up in the copier room if you would like to volunteer and/or you have a generator we can use.  We are also asking for your assistance with candy donations.  Please bring your candy donations to the Secretary’s Office.  If you have any questions, please contact Patricia Taylor at 919-995-1655.

Surviving the Holidays. The holiday season can be a challenging time for individuals who’ve experienced a loss of relationship, family member, separation or divorce. During this time, there is a lot of focus on family, social events, yearly traditions, expectations and cheer; the emotions can blindside you. There is an opportunity to lessen the emotional impact by knowing what to expect and being prepared.  “Surviving the Holidays” is here to help. We invite you to join us for this one-time session on Thursday, November 16th, 7:00-9:00 pm at the Poplar House. The Food Pantry Ministry needs men over the age of 18 to assist in loading and unloading the truck every 1st and 3rd Tuesday. Please contact Katherine Branch at 919-772-6119 for details.

Preschool Ministry is looking to recruit new faces! We are seeking full-time teachers and floaters who have the passion to teach and inspire our youth here at PSCC. We are also asking for teens to be a part of the ministry to help assist the teachers. If you or anyone you know are interested in  joining our team please contact Ms. Joyce Harris @ 919-841-6024.

Attention Upcoming Poplar Springs Graduates! The Scholarship Ministry is accepting applications for the Carolyn J. Sapp Professional AwardThe Carolyn J. Sapp Professional Award allows us to honor Carolyn’s memory by recognizing a Poplar Springs undergraduate student who is preparing to   enter the job market and who has demonstrated a true spirit of faith-based   professionalism and excellence.  To qualify, applicants must be a college junior or senior.  Applications can be picked up in the secretary’s office or from any member of the Scholarship Ministry. 

Submit a two-page essay that contains  the following details: 

  1. How applicant has demonstrated professionalism and excellence in their community, church, academic, personal and professional activities.
  2. Applicant’s plans after graduation.
  3. How Applicant has made and will continue to make a positive impact in their community.

The deadline for submitting an application is November 19, 2017.
