Announcements: Week of May 12th

Attention VBS Superstars: For those who signed up to volunteer for VBS, please meet on Sunday, May 19th, at the Poplar House after Sunday Service. VBS will be June 10-14th, 6:00 – 8:15 pm.

Greeting Queens, The Tea time committee will be hosting a bowling outing at Buffaloe Lanes, 6701 Fayetteville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603, May 25th from 1-3. The cost is $15.00 per person, which includes shoes and bowling. Please sign up in the copier room if you plan to attend. The deadline to sign up is May 19th. Please encourage your family and friends to come have fun and fellowship. Contact Doza Primus or Ella Mebane with questions.

Attention All Saint Augustine’s Falcons! If you are an alumnus, have attended St. Augustine’s, or have any affiliation with the university, we greatly need you for SAU Sunday at Poplar Springs. Please put your information on the Saint Augustine’s info sheet in the copier room, or you may send it to Arielle McMillan at mcmillanarielle@gmail.com.

All graduating high school seniors are eligible to receive a scholarship to the college they choose to attend. Contact the Scholarship Ministry, Deacon Lattie Baker, or Robert Braswell for more info and application.

Initial payments on the Women’s Retreat may be made after service today in Classroom 1. Please bring your registration form, payment, and patience.

The Scholarship Ministry would like to recognize all elementary, middle school, high school, and college students for their school year achievement and recognition for church ministries, community service, clubs, and public service activities. A copy/record of all achievements/recognitions is not required. You will receive recognition by completing the form on the church website.   

We also want to recognize our graduates for their great accomplishments. We ask that all preschool, high school, and college graduates submit the Graduate Recognition form along with a graduate picture no later than May 31st. The form is on the church website.

The Missionary Ministry will hold a small give-away event on Saturday, May 18th, from 10:00 to 3:00 p.m. Please feel free to bring in any gently used items you are not using that someone else can use. Donations will be accepted the week before. 

The Men’s Ministry is planning a Fall Men’s Retreat in Wilmington, NC, from October 25th to 27th. For further information, contact Horace Palmer at 919-987-7760. 

The Youth Ministry is in need of teachers for Youth Church. Please contact Pastor Eric Sconiers if you are interested at youth@poplar-springs.org.

Please donate portable heaters for families in need. The Abraham Sunday School class needs your help with donations of portable heaters to help families in need for the upcoming winter months. Distribution will be first to those in our church family, then to those in the community. If you don’t have access and need your statement emailed or mailed to you, please contact the Church Administrator at administrator@poplar-springs.org or call the church office at 919-772-5151 and leave a message for the Administrator.
