Announcements: Week of June 1st

Poplar Springs Food Bank Ministry Food Distribution is tomorrow morning starting at 7:30 am (while supplies last).  We are here to serve! If you or someone you know is in need, drive by and receive fresh food. Please clear your trunks before arrival to ensure a smooth and quick distribution process. Spread the word and bless someone in need!  

Tea Time is this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you ladies on the Zoom call. Zoom information is on the Church’s calendar.    

Line dancing will resume on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Lake Benson Park. The new time is 6:30—7:30 pm.  Feel free to bring a friend and water.

The A. B. Davis Fellowship Ministry is going to Lancaster, PA, October 22-25, 2025. If you are interested in going, a non-transferable, non-refundable deposit of $25 is due by June 15, 2025. The cost per person is:  A. B. Davis Members- $350; Poplar Springs Disciples- $375; Non-Members- $400. Contact Ms. Mildred Keith or Ms. Tina Smith.

New Generation Choir rehearsal will be held on the following dates:  Saturday, June 21 and June 28, 2025, 11:30 am—12:30 pm.

Women’s Retreat 2025: Ladies, we are almost at our goal of 100 attendees. Four more ladies can join us. If you are interested in attending the Women’s Retreat 2025, please complete the registration form and make payment. You are a charm!

Father’s Day Brunch Volunteers: All ladies interested in helping plan the Father’s Day Brunch are invited to a weekly Zoom call each Monday through June 8 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting ID is 9197725151 with the standard passcode. Habitat for Humanity Community Event: Hello Garner area churches! We are just a couple of weeks away from the Gatewood neighborhood Beautification Day, which will be Saturday, June 7th.  We need more volunteers to help with landscaping and painting on 11 different projects throughout the neighborhood.  Wake Baptist Grove is serving as grill masters, so lunch will be provided. It will be fabulous! Please sign up here, so they have an accurate head count.

The Scholarship Ministry would like to recognize all elementary, middle school, high school, and college students for their school year achievements, recognitions for church ministries, community service, clubs, and public service activities. A copy/record of all achievements/recognitions is not required. You will receive recognition by completing the form located on the church website. We also want to recognize our graduates for their great accomplishment. We ask that all preschool, high school, and college graduates submit the Graduate Recognition form along with a graduate picture no later than June 5th. The form is on the church website.
 
 
There will be no Wednesday night Bible study for the month of June. Bible study will reconvene on July 9th.

The Youth Ministry needs teachers for Youth Church. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Eric Sconiers at youth@poplar-springs.org.

The Transportation Ministry is in need of new members. If you are looking for a place to serve and want to be a part of this ministry, please see any member of the Trustee Ministry, or call the Church.

The Men’s Ministry meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm at the Poplar House. For more information, call Nathaniel Washington (703-789-1109).
