For decades, Poplar Springs Christian Church has been sustained by well water and septic systems. The Water and Sewer Capital Campaign will connect our church to city water and sewer — a healthier, safer foundation for everything we do, from Sunday worship to community meals. This campaign is about stewardship: caring responsibly for what God has entrusted to us. Join us, and together we can protect the health of our church family, prepare for growth, and build for generations to come.
Our Challenge
- The church is using an outdated well and septic tank system
- The water is not suitable for drinking, and cannot be used for cooking in the kitchen of the church
- The water discolors restroom sinks and commodes — adding to an unpleasant odor
- Risks of leaks and contamination
- Increasing emergency and repair expenses
Why is having a sewer & water system important?
- It allows for cleaner, safer water
- Reduces Environmental impact
- Provides for a stronger infrastructure for our future generations
- Allows for lower long-term costs (needed repairs) through proactive investment
What we will do
- Install new water and sewer lines
- Improve water quality and reliability
- Reduce leaks and system failures
- Install new fixtures (toilets, etc.)
Our Goal
- To secure the funding needed to modernize essential sewer and water systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and sustainability for decades
- $300,000 is the campaign goal
- Timeline: 36 months or sooner
Your support will allow the church to:
- Install new sewer and water line pipes to connect with city water
- Have properly treated water that is safe to cook with and safe to drink
- Have modern monitoring and control technology for both sewer and water systems
- Make stormwater improvements
- Enhance our fire protection systems
