Announcements: Week of May 25th

The women of Poplar Springs have decided to do something different for the fathers this year. We are sending you to a fun-filled morning of simulated golf, food, and fellowship at Drive Shaft of Raleigh on Saturday, June 14th, from 10 am – 12 noon. We do need a headcount, so we are asking everyone to sign up via Eventbrite. We will have women available to help you sign up in the narthex and classroom #1 immediately following service. The first 50 spots are reserved for disciples through Wednesday, May 28th. After that, it will be open to guests up to 80 attendees.

CC2C AARP will meet on Thursday, May 29th, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. The topic is caregiving, “From A Man’s Perspective.” Our guest will be Charles Etcherson. Meeting ID 86545739153 with standard passcode. Everyone is welcome.

Father’s Day Brunch Volunteers: All ladies interested in helping plan the Father’s Day Brunch are invited to a weekly Zoom call each Monday through June 8 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting ID is 9197725151 with the standard passcode. Habitat for Humanity Community Event: Hello Garner area churches! We are just a couple of weeks away from the Gatewood neighborhood Beautification Day, which will be Saturday, June 7th. We need more volunteers to help with landscaping and painting on 11 different projects throughout the neighborhood. Wake Baptist Grove is serving as grill masters, so lunch will be provided. It will be fabulous! Please sign up here, so they have an accurate head count.

The Youth will have a Lock-in after Vacation Bible School, June 27, 8:15 pm – June 28, 10:00 am for ages 12-18. Participants must be registered by a parent/guardian by May 25th. Registration forms are in the copier room.

The Scholarship Ministry would like to recognize all elementary, middle school, high school, and college students for their school year achievements, recognitions for church ministries, community service, clubs, and public service activities. A copy/record of all achievements/recognitions is not required. You will receive recognition by completing the form located on the church website.

We also want to recognize our graduates for their great accomplishment. We ask that all preschool, high school, and college graduates submit the Graduate Recognition form along with a graduate picture no later than June 5th. The form is on the church website.

Join us virtually for Bible study each Wednesday at 7:00 pm. The meeting ID is on the church website and calendar.

The Youth Ministry needs teachers for Youth Church. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Eric Sconiers at youth@poplar-springs.org.

The Transportation Ministry is in need of new members. If you are looking for a place to serve and want to be a part of this ministry, please see any member of the Trustee Ministry, or call the Church.

The Men’s Ministry meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm at the Poplar House. For more information, call Nathaniel Washington (703-789-1109).
