Young Adults Ministry will meet Tuesday, March 7 in the Fellowship Hall.
The First Aid Ministry will be held a Workshop on March 11 in the Fellowship Hall at Poplar Springs Christian Church from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Our guest speaker for this event will be Kieva Chavis-Robinson, RN who is pursuing her BSN degree at NCCU. She will speak on the topic Teen Substance Abuse. We are inviting any member of the Usher Ministry, teens, and/or moms to attend this workshop to receive additional education on this issue. Other topics for the day are geared toward the First Aid Ministry duties, review of the First Aid Handbook, checking battery status of AED and documenting, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to call Doza Primus or Vanessa Snellings.
Annual Women’s’ Tea – will be held on Sunday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m. Wear your hats and gloves. Please sign up in the copier room.
Royal Family Kids Camp Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 6:00 p.m. Our theme this year will be Sowing Seeds of Hope. Tickets are free and will not be given out at the door. You must have a ticket in order for us to get a proper head count. Please see Robyn King for tickets by March 19th. Volunteers are needed July 16-21, save the date. Spouses of the Deacons will volunteer at HOPE Ministry on Saturday, March 25th at 10:00 am.
Women’s Retreat Committee needs volunteers to join us on April 8th, 8:00am-12:00pm in preparing the church for Homecoming with the following tasks: cleaning windows (inside and out), blinds, baseboards throughout the church, bathrooms, sanctuary (pews, windows, exhaust system vents,) and other tasks. Greeters Ministry is looking for new Greeters for the new year. If you are interested in becoming a greeter, please contact Minister Hartsfield.
Wake-Johnston Men’s Fellowship Breakfast will be held in the fellowship hall on Saturday, March 25th at 8:00 – 10:0 am. Guest speaker will be Deacon David K. Baker. All men are invited.
Poplar Springs is offering 10 weeks of summer camp from June 13 – August 18, 2017. You may register for as many weeks as you would like with a two-week minimum. Camp will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $50 per child. The weekly camp fee for the summer of 2017 is $60 per child. A payment plan is available for your convenience. Early Bird Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $35 (deadline for early bird registration fee is Friday, March 31). Please see Rev. Women’s Retreat Committee – We have one full bus for the Women’s Retreat to New York City, September 13 – 17, 2017. In order to take a second bus, we need 25 more ladies to sign up. A sign-up sheet will be placed in the copier room. All deposits must be paid by March 26th. For more information, please see the committee members.
Youth Announcements
All parents of youth attending the Youth Mission Retreat –There will be a brief meeting following both services today with important updates and information on the retreat. The meeting will be in the rear of the sanctuary immediately following service. Installment payment will also be collected today in the Narthex.
