Announcements: Week of August 7

Scholarship Ministry – will recognize all elementary, middle school, high school and college students who made the honor roll, President’s List, or Dean’s List during the Spring Semester (3rd quarter, 4th quarter, or both).  All students who made the honor roll/list are encouraged to place a COPY of their report card in the Scholarship mailbox no later than today.  Please remember for every “C” or “2” there must be an “A” or “4”.  Students being honored will be recognized during the August 21 service at 9:30am.


The Cathy Chavis Care’s “Back to School Supplies Drive” is collecting school supplies for our youth. The drive will end on Wednesday, August 17. There is a box under the mailboxes or you can leave them in the church office.  If you are in need of supplies sign up in the copier room. The supplies will be disbursed Sunday, August 21 after service.


CC2C-AARP – You don’t have to be a senior to partner with AARP. The AARP CareGivers Committee is sponsoring a Caregiver’s event on Saturday, August 13. The committee would like to have prizes for giveaway. If you’re an entrepreneur and have a gift(s) to donate, please sign up in the copier room or see any of the committee members. Raleigh-Apex NAACP, Annual Freedom Fund Banquet – August 20 at 5:00 pm. The theme is “Our Lives Matter Our Votes Count”. If you would like to attend, please contact Minister Edith Berry or Vanessa Snellings. We have tickets available for $40 each.

A.B. Davis Fellowship Ministry – is planning their biannual trip. They will be traveling to Charleston, SC on October 20-22, 2016. This trip is open to anyone, limited seats are available. Preschool Ministry will be taking their summer break and will not hold the preschool ministry for the entire month of August. We will resume the 1st Sunday in September. If anyone would like to volunteer to be a teacher or youth volunteer with the preschool ministry, please contact Durenda Johnson Ward at durendaward@gmail.com.
