Vacation Bible School – We are excited and asking for VOLUNTEERs for our upcoming Vacation Bible School, June 17—21, 2019. Our theme this year is JESUS 4 LIFE (Bread of Life, Lamb of God Living Water and the Light of the World). Our first Volunteer meeting will be Wednesday, May 8, 6:00 p.m. Sign-up Sheets are located in the Copier Room.
Church Conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m.
Get Ready! Get Ready! Relay For Life of Garner at Lake Benson Park, April 26-27. Kick-off time is 4:00 p.m. Please join Poplar Springs Team Campsite for Fish, chicken & homemade lemonade! Proceeds are donated to the America Cancer Society!
Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
PSCC Summer Camp: We offer eight weeks of summer camp from June 17 – August 9. You may register for as many weeks as you would like with a two-week minimum. Camp will operate from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The weekly camp fee for the 2019 summer is $60 per child, with a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $50—convenient payment plan is available. Registration begins February 4. We offer an Early Bird Registration Fee of $35; Early Bird registration ends April 5. A summer camp registration form can be picked up from the church office. Member Portal Online! As announced in the last church conference, our online Member Portal is now live. You can login to update your contact information, upload family/individual pictures for the online directory and access your financial contributions throughout the year (including 2018). For those who have an email address on file, you will get an email this week asking you to set up your profile from Member Portal. If you don’t get an email invite and want to add your email, you can send a request to administrator@poplar-springs.org to have your email added.
LAMBS/AGAPE Dance Ministries – If you are interested in your little one or youth joining one of these awesome ministries, please sign up in the copier room. If you have any questions, contact Uashekqua King at 919-879-4492.
Maundy Thursday service will be Thursday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Brooks will be the speaker; Lent offerings will be collected at this time.
The A.B. Davis Executive Board will meet tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. in the conference room.
Pastor Brooks will conduct minister training for the Johnston District Missionary Baptist Training Institute at Mt. Peace Baptist Church Monday, April 8—Thursday, April 11, 7:00 p.m. nightly.
There will be a full Usher Ministry meeting Friday, April 12, 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
The Missionary Ministry will celebrate their anniversary Sunday, April 28, at 3:00 p.m. Rev. John W. Highsmith, pastor of Red Hill UCC, Clayton, NC, will be our guest speaker
Women’s Retreat – The committee for the women’s retreat trip is accepting payments in Classroom #1.
The Raleigh-Apex NAACP will hold its Annual Mother of the Year Fundraiser on April 28, at Martin Street Baptist Church. Our theme is “Women Sharing a Serv-a-tude: Serving the Community at their Best.” This year Ms. Bertha Thomas will be the contestant representing Poplar Springs Christian Church. We are happy to accommodate you with parking on the hill and our shuttle drivers are happy to assist you with getting to and from the church before and after service. Anyone interested in joining the First Aid Ministry should contact Vanessa Snellings, Chairperson, at 919-272-8654 or vsnellings@aol.com. To participate you should have a serving spirit and be willing to obtain a First Aid CPR certification. Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
