Young Adult Ministry will meet on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

An Hour of Power Prayer Service will be on Wednesday, September 21 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Poplar Springs Prayer Ministry invites and encourages pastors, ministers, church leaders, officers, disciples and the community to come intercede in prayer for family, church, pastor, community, state, nation, etc. Come support your church as we touch and agree in the power of prayer. We believe the “Prayer is the bridge between panic and peace.”

Day 2 Day Dads: A Free Responsible Fatherhood & Family Strengthening Program will host two workshop series for fathers: a workshop series for fathers who are 16 to 24 years old and a workshop series for fathers who are former offenders. Learn about: getting along with Mom, money and budgeting, connecting with your kids, and more. The program offers transportation assistance, meals at each workshop, employment assistance, cash incentives, and much more. For Former Offenders:  The workshop will begin on Thursday, September 22nd from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm (dinner will be served). For Young Fathers (16 to 24): An information session will be held on Wednesday, September 21st from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The workshop will begin on Wednesday, September 28 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm (dinner will be served). Location is Family Resource Center South Atlantic, 3825 Barrett Drive, Suite 102, Raleigh. Separation/Divorce Care Ministry: A 13-week program that meets once a week from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Poplar House beginning Tuesday, September 20. This ministry provides a biblical approach in finding help, discovering hope, experiencing healing and restoring individuals who are hurting because of separation and/or divorce. We will also offer Divorce Care for kids ages 8 to 12. Both sessions are offered at the same time. Pamela Williams and Kamilla Dancy are facilitators for the children. Please contact Christine C. A.B. Davis Fellowship Ministry will resume on Wednesday, September 21 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.

North Haven Church is inviting all women to join them for the historic night of prayer, on Friday September 23 at 7:00 pm. They will provide refreshments and childcare for children 6 to 12 years old. Sign up in the copier room.

Alzheimer’s Walk 2016 is Saturday, September 24 at the Durham Bulls Park. Alzheimer’s disease is ranked 6th in the leading cause of death, effecting 5.4 million Americans, ages 27 to 85. You can donate and/or walk with the Poplar Springs team “Lessie Mae’s Legacy” (in memory of Lessie Mae Adams Baker) or you can volunteer with the Eastern North Carolina Alzheimer’s Association. Missionary Ministry will meet on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 am in Classroom #1.

Spouses of the Deacons will meet on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 am in the conference room.

New Generation Choir Rehearsal will meet on Saturday, September 24 at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

Annual Women Day will be observed on Sunday, September 25 during the 10:30 am worship service. All women are asked to wear navy blue and/or coral with pearl accessories.

2016 Black Nativity Group Tickets are on sale now. Shows: December 17 and 18 at 4:00 pm and at 8:00 pm. December 19 at 7:00 pm. Ticket price is $18. Last day to sign up and pay is October 2.

Save the Date October 15, 2016: Ready to save a Life? You have the opportunity to come and take a training class for CPR/First Aid for certification on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. There is a fee for taking this class. There is a special fee of $25 for Adult, Child, Pediatric CPR/First Aid and AED (automated external defibrillator). You will need to purchase a book prior to class. Sign up in the copier room.

Hallelujah Carnival: Volunteers are needed for the Hallelujah Carnival which is scheduled for Monday, October 31 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  If you are interested in volunteering for this annual event, please sign up in the copier room or contact Pam Jackson at 919-815-4729.

Wake-Johnson Men’s Fellowship’s Annual Fellowship Banquet will be held at Malaby’s Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church, 911 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC on Saturday, October 29 at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $15. Contact Lattie Baker, Rickie Smith, or Robert Braswell for tickets.

Youth Empowerment Hour Bible Study: Come join the PSCC Wednesday Night Youth Empowerment Hour Bible Study Team. We are in need of teachers and assistants.  Please contact Rev. Frank Williams for additional information.

Youth Ministry Servant Leaders meeting will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Poplar House. Youth Usher Ministry: The purpose of the Youth Usher Ministry is to promote young people interested in working in the church and to train and prepare them for ushering as an adult. Youth Usher Training:  All youth ushers are required to attend. Any youth interested in joining the youth usher ministry should also plan to attend. Lunch will be provided. The meeting will be held on Saturday, October 8 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary.
