PSCC Youth and Parents – Get ready, get set for 2017 Youth Retreat. For more details, please attend one the informational sessions today, in the sanctuary following service. The next informational session will be Sunday, November 6, same time and location.

Hallelujah Carnival will take place tomorrow, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Bring your friends and family to Poplar Springs Christian Church for an evening that is safe and filled with food, fellowship, lots of exciting games, laser tag, a waterless dunking booth, horseback riding, dual basketball, and more.

Food Drive is in need of non-perishable items and canned goods to help the growing number of families we serve. Please place items on the altar. The items will be collected from November 6- 20.

Surviving the Holidays. The Holiday season can be a challenging time for individuals who’ve experienced a loss of relationship, family member, separation or divorce. During this time there is a lot of focus on family, social events, yearly traditions, expectations and “cheer” the emotions scan blindside you. There is an opportunity to lessen the emotional impact by knowing what to expect and being prepared. “Surviving the Holidays” is here to help. We invite you to join us for this one time session on Thursday, November 10, 2016, 7:00-9:00 pm at the Poplar House. Thanksgiving Baskets 2016 – PSCC members who are in need of food for Thanksgiving, please contact the Secretary’s Office or sign up in the copier room by Sunday, November 13.

2016 Christian Church Convocation: The 2016 Christian Church     Convocation will convene on Saturday, November 12. The host church is Northwest-A-Conference Tabernacle, 682 Ten Mile Fork Rd, Trenton, NC and the host Pastor is Rev. Dr. R.E. Midgette, Sr. of West Street Christian Church. Registration is from 8:00 to 8:45 am. Convocation Ministry is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Lunch will be served. Sign up in the copier room or email your RSVP to administrator@poplar-springs.org by November 3.

Carolyn J. Sapp Professional Scholarship – Last day to submit your application is Sunday, November 20. The scholarship will be awarded on Sunday, December 18.

Save the Dates. November 14 – 18, 2016. NC College Appreciation Week: The eleventh edition of North Carolina’s College Application Week will run from November 14 through 18. College Application Week is a statewide college access event that encourages high school seniors to apply to college online at CFNC.org. Special focus is placed on assisting students who would be the first in their families to attend college and students who may not have otherwise considered applying to college. During last year’s College Application Week, there was a total of 71,469 applications submitted by 27,304 students. Over the past ten years, College Application Week has been a statewide effort and we look forward to continuing this tradition across North Carolina this year.
