A flu shot clinic will be held here Wednesday, October 23, 11:00—12:30 p.m. by Garner Family Pharmacy. With proof of insurance, there is no cost; otherwise, the cost is $30; the high-dose senior flu shot is $50. Medicare and Medicaid are welcome. Church Conference will be Thursday, October 24, 7:00 p.m.

It’s popcorn season again!!!! Please support our local boy scouts (The Lacewell boys) by buying some delicious popcorn. Order forms are in the copier room or see one of the boys to place your order. Popcorn delivery and payments due will be on October 20. Thanks so much for your continuous support.

Poplar Springs Disciples, do you know who your assigned deacon is? If you do not and want to know, please contact the church office.

The Men’s Ministry will meet tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. There will be a doctor at this meeting to discuss men’s medical issues, please come out.

Worship in Pink—October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On Sunday, October 27, everyone is asked to wear pink. We will Worship in Pink as our combined effort to stomp out breast and all forms of cancer.

There will be a parent and youth prayer breakfast on Saturday, November 9, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. If you plan to attend, please sign up in the copier room by Sunday, October 27.

We are in dire need of adult members to join the Pre-School Ministry. We need volunteers who are passionate about providing dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to our potty-trained to 4-year-old youth during Sunday Service. Hallelujah Carnival—It’s that time of year again. Our Hallelujah Carnival will be Thursday, October 31st, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Please sign up to volunteer your time on the signup sheets located in the Copier Room. You can start donating candy for the Hallelujah Carnival. There will be Bingo for the adults, and there will be prizes and lots of fun activities for the youth. For everyone, we will have fellowship, fun, food and candy. Contact Pam Jackson for more information.

Youth Usher Ministry – The purpose of the Youth Usher Ministry is to promote young people interested in working in the church, and to train and prepare them for ushering as an adult. This ministry is open to both males and females ages 10 – 18 years of age. If you are interested in being a part of this GREAT ministry, please contact Patrice R. New Disciples 101 is looking for new Facilitators to help teach on Sunday mornings. Please contact Kevin James (919-618-1031) or Minister Delores Anderson if you are interested.

As a courtesy to our neighbors on Poplar Springs Church Street and as a safety precaution, please do not double park on Poplar Springs Church Street. We are happy to accommodate you with parking on the hill and our shuttle drivers are happy to assist you with getting to and from the church before and after service. Anyone interested in joining the First Aide Ministry should contact the Chairperson, Vanessa Snellings, at 919-272-8654 or vsnellings@aol.com. To participate you should have a serving spirit and be willing to obtain a First Aid CPR certification. Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Please contact the Media Ministry at 919-961-7614 if there are problems with the broadcast so they can work to correct them as soon as possible.

The Usher Ministry is looking for smiling faces and helpful hands to join them. Please see Marie Taylor or Brenda Alston if you would like to be a part of this ministry.
