Please donate portable heaters for families in need. The Abraham Sunday School class needs your help with donations of portable heaters to help families in need for the upcoming winter months.  Distribution will be first to those in our church family, then to those in the community.  Contact Trustee Kevin Ragland (919) 449-6444 or Deacon Al McCutcheon (919) 723-1233.  If you are in need of a heater, please sign up in the copier room.

PSCC Girls ministry, HIS Daughters, is seeking committed servant leaders to serve with us in the ministry.  The purpose of HIS Daughters ministry is to reach young girls with the message of GOD’s love and HIS plan for their lives.  It is our vision to see young girls grow to become young woman who love and serve GOD.  Please contact Robin Williams at 919-410-9566 or Karon Hardy at 919-900-0200 for additional information; you can also email youth@poplar-springs.org for ministry information.  We look forward to hearing from you! 

The Scholarship Ministry will recognize all elementary, middle school, high school and college students who made the honor roll, President’s List, or Dean’s List during the Fall/Winter Semester 2017 (1st quarter, 2nd quarter, or both).  Place a COPY of your report card or transcript in the Scholarship Ministry mailbox using the provided envelopes or send a copy via email to Secretary@poplar-springs.org no later than Sunday, January 28, 2018.  We will not be able to accept text messages.  Remember for every “C” or “2” there must be an “A” or “4”.  Students being honored will be recognized during the 10:00 a.m. service on February 18th.  Students who submit report cards after the deadline will be recognized during the Spring Honor Roll Recognition.

There is a Winter Open House bus trip scheduled to Elizabeth City State University for Saturday, February 3, 2018, for students in grades 9-12. The purpose of the trip is to expose high school students to “college life”, to educate about the admissions process, and to meet ECSU faculty, staff and students. The cost is $20/student and $30/parent, which includes lunch and the ticket to a basketball game between ECSU and Bowie State.  You may see the Youth Ministry leaders for more details.

Let’s Support the Grubbs and McLeans…and the Bells as they compete in the live taping of the After the “I Do’s” Game Show on Friday, February 9th at The Clayton Center. Hosted by clean comedian, Les Long, four couples will answer questions about each other in hopes of winning the grand prize. This will keep you laughing for sure! The audience will also have a chance to win great prizes during the show along with some other “surprises” in store for you. There will be a vendor’s pavilion open at 6:30 with items that will be perfect for Valentine’s Day. All Youth Ministry Servant Leaders and those interested in learning more about the Youth Ministry, please mark your calendars for January’s Leaders meeting Saturday, January 20th, at the Poplar House from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  Please contact Rev. Frank Williams for additional information.

Youth Night is Friday, January 19th , 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  All youth ages 7-17 are welcome to join us!  Contact Rev. Frank Williams or Robin Williams for additional information.   

The Annual Madden Tournament will be Saturday, January 27th, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  All men are asked to contact Rev. Frank Williams at 919-327-8907 to see how you can help make this a successful event for our young men.
