The Spouses of the Deacons will meet Saturday, February 2, 10:00 a.m.

The Scholarship Ministry will recognize all elementary, middle school, high school and college students who made the honor roll, President’s List, or Dean’s List during the Fall/Winter Semester 2017 (1st quarter, 2nd quarter, or both). Today is the last day to place a COPY of your report card or transcript in the Scholarship Ministry mailbox to be recognized on February 18. Remember for every “C” or “2” there must be an “A” or “4”.  

There is a Winter Open House bus trip scheduled to Elizabeth City State University for Saturday, February 3, 2018, for students in grades 9-12. The purpose of the trip is to expose high school students to “college life”, to  educate about the admissions process, and to meet ECSU faculty, staff and students. The cost is $20/student and $30/parent, which includes lunch and the ticket to a basketball game between ECSU and Bowie State. You may see the Youth Ministry leaders for more details.

Let’s Support the Grubbs and McLeans …and the Bells as they compete in the live taping of the After the “I Do’s” Game Show on Friday, February 9th at The Clayton Center. Hosted by clean comedian, Les Long, four couples will answer questions about each other in hopes of winning the grand prize. This will keep you laughing for sure! The audience will also have a chance to win great prizes during the show along with some other “surprises” in store for you. There will be a vendor’s pavilion open at 6:30 with items that will be perfect for Valentine’s Day. We are looking for positive and enthusiastic Summer Camp Counselors who enjoy working with children.  Join us as a Camp Counselor at Poplar Springs Christian Church for fun in the sun, field trips, crafts and daily academic enrichment. Counselors must be 18 years of age or older, willing to participate in all indoor and outdoor activities, and must be available four or more hours per shift. Save the Date!! Garner Relay for Life will be April 27 – 28, 2018, at Lake Benson Park, Garner, NC, 4:00pm until…Sponsored by the Cancer Support Ministry.

Separation/Divorce Care Ministry: A 13-week program that meets once a week from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Poplar House beginning Tuesday,    February 20th. This ministry provides a biblical approach in finding help, discovering hope, experiencing healing and restoring individuals who are   hurting because of separation and/or divorce. We will also offer Divorce Care for kids ages 8 to 12. Both sessions are offered at the same time. Pamela Williams and Kamilla Dancy are facilitators for the children. Please contact Christine C.
