Bullying Hurts

Synopsis:

Alexis, a high school student, is in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Tyler, who is a bully that often experiences abuse at home and terrorizes the students at "Weldon Brooks High School". After their break-up, Alexis has a really bad week at school and contemplates suicide. Chris, a friend of Alexis and a “mis-fit” to Tyler, is sick of his friends being tortured. Tyler along with his "popular" friends has nothing but discouraging things to say to Alexis, Chris and their friends. After several altercations, the tables turn and Tyler gets a dose of his own medicine. Tyler gets a hard lesson on why he should stop bullying.

This production is in collaboration with our young people for our young people. This play offers a glimpse inside of what is reality for our youth and part of their normal day-to-day school life. This play addresses difficult subject matter such as homelessness, homosexuality, neglect in the home and abusive relationships just to name a few topics. This play will make you laugh and it will make you cry. You will gain insight to the trickledown effect as to why people bully. Bring a young person and come to experience why Everybody Hurts. This is a production that you do not want to miss!!
