Member Portal Online! As announced in the last church conference, our online Member Portal is now live. You can login to update your contact information, upload family/individual pictures for the online directory and access your financial contributions throughout the year (including 2018). For those who have an email address on file, you will get an email this week asking you to set up your profile from Member Portal. If you don’t get an email invite and want to add your email, you can send a request to email@example.com to have your email added.
2019 Annual Graduation/Youth Recognition Awards and Banquet – Each year the Scholarship Ministry recognizes all students of Poplar Springs for their accomplishments made during the year. These accomplishments can be church, school, athletic, or community-related. We will celebrate our graduates and students by honoring them and their family with a social on Saturday, July 13, 2019, 4:00 p.m. Scholarship Ministry is asking all graduates and students to complete the Graduation/Youth Recognition Form found on the table near Pastor Brooks’ office or on the church website. The form should be completed in print and returned to the Scholarship mailbox located on the table next to Pastor Brooks’ office, emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or given to any Scholarship Ministry member. The DEADLINE to submit the form is Sunday, June 2nd. This information will be highlighted at the Annual Youth Recognition and Social. On Sunday, June 23rd, 10:00 a.m, ALL Preschool, High School, and College graduates will be recognized at the Graduation/Youth Day Program. If you are a Preschool, High School, or College graduate, please contact the church office to schedule an appointment with Veronica Wall to take your FUN graduation picture to be posted on the bulletin board and recognized during the Graduation Sunday Service. The dates to take pictures are May 14th, May 23rd, and June 4th.
Our Annual Youth & Family Trip will be Saturday, July 6th, to Colonial Williamsburg—The African-American Experience and Busch Gardens Water Country USA, both in Williamsburg, Virginia. The cost is $35/person on a 55-passenger chartered bus. All youth must have a designated chaperone (we need at least 8 chaperones). The last collection date is next Sunday, May 5th. We are excited and asking for volunteers for our upcoming Vacation Bible School, June 17—21, 2019. Our theme this year is JESUS 4 LIFE (Bread of Life, Lamb of God Living Water and the Light of the World). Our first Volunteer meeting will be Wednesday, May 8th, 6:00 p.m. Sign-up Sheets are located in the Copier Room.
LAMBS/AGAPE Dance Ministries – If you are interested in your little one or youth joining one of these awesome ministries, please sign up in the copier room. If you have any questions, contact Uashekqua King at 919-879-4492.
The committee for the women’s retreat trip is accepting payments in Classroom #1.
PSCC Summer Camp: We offer eight weeks of summer camp from June 17th – August 9th. You may register for as many weeks as you would like with a two-week minimum. Camp will operate from 7:00am to 6:00pm. The weekly camp fee for the 2019 summer is $60 per child, with a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $50—convenient payment plan is available. A summer camp registration form can be picked up from the church office. As a courtesy to our neighbors on Poplar Springs Church Street and as a safety precaution, please do not double park on Poplar Springs Church Street. We are happy to accommodate you with parking on the hill and our shuttle drivers are happy to assist you with getting to and from the church before and after service. Anyone interested in joining the First Aid Ministry should contact Vanessa Snellings, Chairperson, at 919-272-8654 or email@example.com. To participate you should have a serving spirit and be willing to obtain a First Aid CPR certification. Meetings are the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
