The Susan G. Komen Triangle Race for the Cure is Saturday, June 14th, at Meredith College beginning at 7:00 a.m. Early registration ($25) ends at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1st so register TODAY! Training will begin on Saturday, April 5th - June 7th, at Lake Johnson (near the boat house) at 7:00 a.m. Please come out and get ready to walk or run this great race.
Separation/Divorce Care Ministry will start on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. This is a 13 week program that meets once a week from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the conference room at the church. This ministry is open to the community and provides a biblical approach in finding help, discovering hope, experiencing healing and restoration to individuals hurting because of separation and/or divorce. We're planning to offer DC for kids to children/youth who need understanding and support during this time. Please contact Christine C. Youth Usher Ministry - The purpose of the Youth Usher is to promote young people interested in working in the church, to train and prepare them for ushering as an adult. This ministry is open to both males and females ages 9 - 18 years of age. Volunteers are needed for this year's camp. Camp will be July 20 - 25, 2014, in Dunn, NC. For more information regarding the available positions and training dates, please see Rev. Frank Williams or obtain an information packet from the RFKC display table.
Youth Ages 14-18 (currently in 9th-12th grade) - The NC General Assembly is currently accepting applications for the 2014 Page Program in the Senate and on March 3rd in the House, for the Short Session. Short Session will begin May 14, 2014 and run approximately until early July. To be eligible the Page must be age 14 -18 and currently in the 9th- 12th grade and in good standing. The Page will be paid $150.00 for the week or elect to choose 30 hours of community service. The House application can be retrieved on the NC General Assembly website at NCleg.net, on March 3rd. The Senate application can be obtained by contacting your Senator. Go online and find out who your Representative and Senator is and mail your completed application directly to his or her office.
